Fear of the “Great Replacement“ is now the major driving force in the GOP. So, Marjorie Taylor Greene, who does not much participate in the legislative process other than occasionally trying to stop it, and has lost all her committee assignments, raised over 3 million bucks in the last quarter. A really good first-quarter haul for a freshman member of Congress who’s actually getting things done would be $250,000 to a half million dollars. Greene blew the doors out. But why?

Raise their corporate income tax rate! Most Americans, when they hear that President Joe Biden wants to raise the corporate income tax to 28% to pay for his infrastructure plan, think that means that every business in America is suddenly going to be hit with some kind of surcharge. That couldn’t be further from the truth.

The 14th Amendment gives us tools that haven’t been used in over a century. Four days after President Donald Trump and several members of Congress incited an angry mob to attack the Capitol and overturn an election he’d lost by over 7 million votes, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi sent a note to her Democratic colleagues. She called for Vice President Pence to invoke the 25th Amendment, to begin a new impeachment process, and wrapped the memo up by saying “Your views on the 25th Amendment, 14th Amendment Section 3, and impeachment are valued as we continue.”

Republicans & Trump have thrown Evangelical Christianity into a full-blown crisis. Republican politicians are doubling down on exploiting religious people, and its now killing churches in a way not seen in living memory.

Their target is anything that isn’t white, male or associated with a gun So let me get this straight. Republicans tried to cancel democracy in Georgia, and got called out on it. So now they’re trying to cancel Coca-Cola and Delta Airlines. All of this, according to Fox News, has something to do with “left-wing cancel culture.”

It's killing Americans & paralyzing our politics. There’s a clear nexus between Matt Gaetz (and, apparently, a few other Republican politicians) spending his $174,000 a year on sex…and Ron DeSantis blowing up businesses in his state. And that nexus isn’t just Florida.

Just like Monsanto, they're "locking down" their markets & Americans are falling for it. In a daily rant a few weeks ago I mentioned how I’ve been running a contest for 15+ years on my radio program for anybody who can identify one single piece of legislation proposed by a majority of Republicans, passed through Congress by a majority of Republicans, and signed by a Republican president that’s principal goal and outcome was to help the American middle-class rather than rich people or giant corporations.

Will the GOP reform itself, or must it die? You can tell when Republicans are in trouble: they start throwing gunpowder on the fires of the culture wars. This week Republicans who control the Michigan State House and Senate passed a law requiring the state to inform recipients of the Johnson & Johnson Covid vaccine that it was developed using fetal stem cells.

Covid may soon be the least of our worries. As more Americans are getting vaccinated, there’s a sense of relief washing over the country that’s almost giddy. But we’re not out of the Covid woods yet, and, in some ways, it’s distracted us from a frankly much larger crisis. Our planet is screaming a message at us, and Covid is part of that communication. The death of nature and the appearance of Covid are all part of the same thing.

What red blooded, Nazi-arm-band-wearing, Confederate-flag-waving, Capitol-invading, gun-toting American patriot could possibly object? Marjorie Taylor Greene is characterizing vaccine passports as “Joe Biden‘s mark of the beast,” so they must have some value. But we have to come up with a different name for them if we’re going to get the conspiracy nuts…er…Republicans on board.
