There has been much discussion about what the framers of the Constitution thought about impeachment of the president, particularly given the wide range of impeachable things Trump has done, and the debate around whether impeaching him is consistent with the thoughts of the men who wrote the Constitution’s impeachment clause.

So, About Those Cancellation Letters…

Surprise, surprise… Insurance companies are trying to cheat customers out of more money. Since the start of Obamacare, we’ve heard various reports of companies canceling insurance policies, and charging customers hundreds of dollars more each month to continue coverage. Well, it turns out that many of those cancellation letters were misleading, and failed to mention that customers could find better policies at lower prices on a healthcare exchange.

The USPS Media #FAIL

Last week, the United States Post Office announced it is ending Saturday delivery of mail in an effort to save $2 billion a year. Since then, our news media has completely botched the story, and given cover to a Republican Party and its corporate donors. For years they’ve been trying to destroy the United States Post Office – the largest employer of unionized workers in the nation – and now they’re making it happen. But almost nobody is reporting on that aspect of it.

Labor Unions on the Brink

Ten thousand workers converged on the Michigan state capitol today for the latest labor battle in what’s been a three decades long losing war for labor rights in America. And with their backs against the wall, Michigan unions face annihilation (and the subsequent annihilation of organized labor across America) or redemption.

Death and Number-Crunching in Corporate America

We now know that the death of 112 workers in the Tazreen garment factory in Bangladesh, just like the death of countless others around the world and right here in America, was the result of a cost-benefit analysis. This one was apparently largely done by Walmart, although the practice is common across the corporate world.
